1967 Datsun 2000 Roadster Convertible
The customer had been doing some work on this car before it arrived and now he needed some rusted areas repaired. No aftermarket body panels or structural pieces are available for this car. We made all the new pieces that we used by hand from flat steel except the left rear quarter panel, which came from a donor car. Once we repaired the rusted areas, the customer picked it up and took it home to finish it.

This is what the car looked like when it first arrived at our shop. The body was mounted to it's original frame, which was setting on another chassis for the purpose of having the capabilities to roll; not a bad idea.
The passenger side quarter panel and rear panel was in bad shape...
so we cut them out and replaced them. The quarter panel came from a donor car, but the rear panel was custom made by hand using the old panel as a pattern.
This area is behind the rear tire on the driver side...
and here's the patch we made for it.
We cut out the rusted floors, made custom floor pans and installed them.
Every place where the body mounted to its frame had rust damage. So we removed the damaged areas...
made new pieces and welded them in.
The front frame rails were in bad shape, so we replaced them with custom made pieces as well.
The damaged rocker panels were cut out...
the inner structure was treat with a rust inhibitor, new pieces made and installed.
The bottoms of the front fenders were riddled with holes, so...
new patch panels were made...
along with the needed bracing to reconstruct the fender similar to its original condition.
Once all the rusted areas where repaired, the doors, fenders, trunk lid and hood were adjusted for proper alignment. This is what the car looked like when the customer picked it up from us.
