1964 Plymouth Fury

The car didn't look too bad when it first arrived at our shop.

After removing the suspension and securing the body to a rotisserie, we media blasted it down to bare metal.

This is the passenger side quarter after media blasting.

This is the driver side quarter after media blasting.

The thick undercoating on this car helped preserve it, but it was a job for Justin to remove it.

We blasted the bottom one more time to remove the remaining undercoat.

Fred then shot a coat of primer on the car to keep the bare metal from rusting.

We cut the front floor pan out on the passenger side, being careful not to damage the floor supports...

and here's the aftermarket floor pan installed.

The lower quarter panel on the passenger side was too rusty, so we cut it out...

fitted the aftermarket replacement panel...

and finish welded it.

This shows a small area behind the driver side rear wheel that we repaired with a custom made patch panel.

The majority of the trunk floor was rusted out bad enough...

that we cut it out...

and repaired it with custom made panels.

This shot shows the top side of the body after the rusted areas were repaired and primed...

and this is the under side.

The body shell has been repaired, primed and seam sealed and the cleaned up suspension has been reinstalled.

The next repairs to be made were some rusty areas on the doors. Here's Evette welding in a patch on the bottom of the passenger side door...

and this shot is showing that repair after welding and grinding. If you look close, there were many holes in this door that we repaired after this picture was taken.

Once the doors were repaired, we moved onto fixing the rusty areas in the trunk lid. This pictures shows some of the smaller holes repaired, with the bigger areas remaining...

to be cut out and repaired with custom patches such as this one.

This is the trunk lid repaired and ready to be installed on the car.

We then moved on to fixing the rust in the front fenders. There was a patch that was alread on this fender (left side of picture) that had to be cut out as well as the area that's being pointed to. This shot was taken before rust repair...

and this shot was taken after.

Once we repaired the rusted areas on the doors, fenders...

and trunk lid, we installed them on the body.

The hood for this car was in really good shape. We simply cleaned it up, primed it...

and installed it. This is how the car looked just before the customer picked it up to take it to the body shop.
