1941 Chevy Panel Truck

This is what the truck looked like when it first arrived at our shop.

We removed the stock chassis.

The body was located on the late model chassis.

As you can see, the body sits too high on the late model chassis and the tires stick out too far.

We lowered the body and we widened the fenders...

and running boards to correct the problems caused by the late model chassis.

We fabricated this custom floor panel...

to accommodate for the late model transmission.

Here's Justin using a DA sander.

We fabricated a box that basically extends the firewall...

to accommodate the late model steering column.

This shows the widened fenders and running boards in place.

Once the rust was repaired on the rear doors, we reinstalled them.

The rusted areas that Fred is cutting out of the front lower filler panel...

were repaired...

and rust proofed before installation.

The hood was adjusted and installed.

This shot shows Fred tig welding the custom front valance panel that was fabricated for this project...

and here it is installed.

The brake and accelerator pedals were customized to fit and installed.

The original gas tank was located under the bench seat in the driver compartment with the fill tube running out the passenger side just behind the front door. Now that the body is mounted on a late model chassis where the gas tank in mounted toward the rear...

we fabricated a custom gas fill tube...

that we ran through the rear fender...

on the passenger side.
